Since 2014, the EcoLitt project, gathering researchers from the universities of Angers, Le Mans and Nantes, has been studying the relationship between literature and the environment, especially in a non Anglophone, European context. The main goal of the international conference “Defining European Ecocriticism” is to give a geographical dimension to this framework by investigating national, regional, and local particularities of eco-literature, be it in the guise of fiction, non-fiction, or criticism.
